Telltale

Offshore-spend intelligence for AI automation consultants and small agencies.

Job posts tell you what companies are paying people to do. Telltale reads those posts, decodes the task taxonomy, scores each task for automation fit, and estimates the monthly offshore spend — so you walk into a pitch knowing the ROI math before you say hello.

What the offshore-replacement pitch looks like without this

You know your ICP: companies spending $500-1,200/month on offshore VAs for tasks a workflow could handle. Finding them takes hours of prospecting on LinkedIn and job boards. Getting to the task-level detail — what exactly they're paying the VA to do — requires a conversation that may or may not happen.

By the time you're in the room, you're asking discovery questions to find out what you could have known in advance. That's time, and it's a weaker pitch than walking in with a specific build estimate already drafted.

Apollo and ZoomInfo give you firmographics. They don't tell you which tasks a company's VA handles, which of those tasks are automatable, or what the displacement ROI looks like. That information is buried in public job posts — Telltale reads them for you.

What you receive each month

Tier B · $50/month

Raw List

  • New companies added this month (NAICS-filtered, SD market)
  • Offshore spend estimate (monthly $)
  • Contact enrichment where available (name, email, LinkedIn)
  • Monthly refresh

List only — no task-level intelligence. Lower defensibility; a funded competitor could replicate the list in 1-3 months.

Recommended Tier A · $150–300/month

Calibrated Intelligence

  • Everything in Tier B
  • Task taxonomy per company (decoded from job post language)
  • Automation fit score per task (Atlas-node-matched)
  • Match-rate calibration data — actual build vs. predicted tasks (unlocks after 5 logged engagements)

The calibration layer is what competitors can't replicate without running the builds. That's the moat.

How the data is produced

Telltale is not a database of claimed offshore spend. It's a methodology applied to public evidence.

  1. 1

    Mine public offshore job posts

Collect job posts from platforms where offshore VA roles are advertised. Filter to SD-market companies and NAICS codes relevant to automation-replacement engagements.

  2. 2

Decode task taxonomy from post language

Parse each post into a structured task list. Job posts are written for human readers — the taxonomy work translates "manage inbox and respond to routine inquiries" into discrete, automatable task atoms.

  3. 3

Score each task against the automation Atlas

Each task atom is matched to a node in our business-process automation reference (490 process nodes scored by automation difficulty). The match produces an automation fit score and a build-complexity estimate.

  4. 4

    Calibrate with build data post-engagement

After each client engagement sourced from the Telltale list, we log predicted vs. actual tasks, actual vs. estimated spend, and automation match rate. That feedback loop is what separates a calibrated product from a raw list.

Where the data stands right now

The current Telltale dataset covers 163 San Diego companies with decoded offshore task lists from sweep v2 (June 2026). These companies have confirmed offshore VA spend via public job evidence. Contact enrichment is partial.

The calibration layer — match-rate data from actual builds — does not exist yet. It requires completed client engagements. Tier A is listed here so early-access subscribers know what they're buying into; it unlocks when the gate clears.

We're not going to describe a calibrated intelligence product and sell you a list. The distinction between what exists now and what the product will be is intentional. If you want to be a founding subscriber and help close the calibration gate faster, the early-access list is the right move.

Who this is built for

Solo AI automation consultants

You're doing offshore-replacement pitches but spending too much time on prospect research. Telltale gives you a pre-qualified list with task-level intelligence so you can focus on building and closing, not mining job boards.

Small AI automation agencies

You have a team and a pipeline to fill. A monthly refresh of offshore-replacement prospects with automation fit scores accelerates deal qualification and makes your SDR's time more valuable.

Not a fit if:

  • You need national coverage — this is a San Diego-market product; expansion comes after the calibration gate clears.
  • You're a recruiter or staffing firm looking for candidate data — Telltale surfaces companies, not candidates.
  • You want a CRM or outreach platform — this is a data product; you bring your own outreach stack.
